Using widgets
Widgets allow you to customize the sidebar of your website.
Some ideas:
In the following screenshot, the outlined area in red is the "widget area". You can customize this area in the control panel by clicking Display / widgets / widgets.

- Show off random photos in the photo gallery
- Link to the "most popular" content on your website
- Show a "what's new" list
- Display a farmer's market schedule on each page of your site

Add custom widget
A custom widget allows you to type any text you like using Small Farm Central's text editor. Use the numbers on the screenshot below to see what each function does.
- Title: The title field allows you to put a heading at the top of your widget. This is not required.
- Text: Type any text you like into the text field. You can come back later to edit this text.
- Toolbar: The Small Farm Central toolbar allows you to do rich text editing, add photos, video, and more. You have all these options for creating your custom widget.
- Weight: This affects the ordering of the widgets. See this help file for more information.
- Narrow to: Show this widget on certain pages only. For example, if you wanted a custom widget on your contact page, you may put "/contact" in the narrow-to field. You may put multiple pages in this box, separating them by commas, if you like. This can be a confusing option -- contact Small Farm Central if you are having trouble with this functionality.
