To find the mailing list functionality in the control panel, navigate to:
Connect / mailing list / send mail
- Subject: The subject for your mailing list email
- Text: The text for your mailing list email. This uses the Small Farm Central rich text editor to allow you to insert photos, links, and other formatting to your email.
- Use this checkbox to automatically add the email to your blog. Then people can leave comments and this makes the text available for search engines.
- Before you send your email, you should test it to make sure links, photos, and formatting works.
- Use groups to segment your mailing list. Your site will start out with a "General mailing list" and all self-subscribers from your public site will be added to that list. You can create new groups in Administrate / users / manage groups and join members to the groups using the User functionality (Administrate / users / manage users). You must choose at least one group to send your email to or no emails will be sent.
