New Subscription Options
The new member fee is a one-time fee to farms new to Small Farm Central. There are two options:Basic New Subscription ($100): The basic new member fee gets you started with your site including any necessary basic support and domain name purchase or transition.
"Consultation Level" New Subscription ($350): The consultation level is for farms who are starting a marketing campaign via the Internet and want to target specific niches and user types. We will discuss via phone and email your farm's needs and draft a marketing outline that gives you resources and next steps to take. In addition, we will help you review your site before you "go-live" and then again at the 6-month mark to help you with any visual issues and to review your marketing plan.
The consultation level of membership may also work for farmers who need some custom development/design work on their website to fit their needs. If you are choosing this for the custom work, there is no consultation included as described above.
Member Assembler Pricing
The Member Assembler is a CSA sign-up and member management platform that can be integrated right into your Small Farm Central site or used as a stand-alone product. Ask about the 30-day free trial. Find pricing information for this package by clicking this link:Member Assembler Pricing Page
Paying in a 12-month increment gets you a 10% discount on the overall cost of your site.
Need a new one? We'll help you choose an effective domain name and start you on it right away. Have your own? We'll help you direct it at our servers.
Hosting is difficult to figure out; we do it for you so you don't have to worry about the ins-and-outs of servers, IP addresses, FTP, and all the rest.
Fast, friendly, and understanding tech support (that isn't too techy!) is standard with every Small Farm Central site.
Example: manager@yourfarm.com
We help you streamline the email communication process -- one of the most important marketing techniques for the small farm. Collect email addresses via your website; segment your list into groups of users who receive different emails; and send blast emails to these groups.
Easily create an event calendar that automatically updates itself as time goes on, so visitors do not see old events.
Export orders and user data to an Excel spreadsheet so you can process your data in any way you want.
Custom pages (Farmer Defined Pages) can be about anything you like: the farmers markets you visit, a price list for your pork, outlines of farm education sessions, job opportunity listing, and etc. You can easily add photos, links, and other formatting to these pages without needing technical knowledge.
Using the custom pages (Farmer Defined Pages), this feature allows you to restrict access to certain pages to certain groups of users. Private pages may be useful for CSA information, wholesale customers, board members, and etc.
Write a blog and take input from visitors through comments.
Comments create a space where visitors can interact with each other and you. Comments may be left on: blog entries, photos, recipes, and ecommerce items. Of course you have the chance to moderate comments.
Customers will want to email you for more information, so the contact page creates that connection. Your email address is never "in-the-clear" so spammers can never pick it up, but customers can easily get in touch with you.
Post your currently available products so customers know what they can buy from you.
For some producers, you may have heirloom varieties or breeds that you would like to tell your customers about. One special aspect of this page, is that if a farmer across the country has added a description of "Rosa Bianca Eggplant" that you really like, with one click you can add it to your site.
Keep your customers updated on changes around your website with the easy to use "What's New" feature. It is automatically updated as you make changes to your site such as uploading photos, posting a blog, or updating a page.
Create recipe pages on which users can leave comments. One special aspect of our recipe system is that it is "network-wide", so if a farmer in Nevada adds a recipe you like, it can be added to your site with one click.
If you need to have customers access documents like PDFs, Word files, or Excel spreadsheets, you can upload them to your file upload area and customers can easily download the files.
Each site starts out as one of the pre-loaded templates on the SFC system -- but the whole site is customizable from the background color/image to the header image to the menu titles. With a little work, the site is entirely your own and shows the individuality of your farm.
If you need help getting a header image and text going because you don't have the right software, we can help you make a header image that looks good.
Widgets allow you to customize the sidebar of your site with more content and links which will help guide visitors around your site.
Create a photo gallery that represents your farm. Once uploaded, these photos can be added to any of your custom pages and other places around your site.
Create animated slideshows of different sub-sets of your photos uploaded to the gallery. This feature allows for 25 different slide transitions that make each slideshow unique.
Add a description of your farm on the description page.
Create profiles with photos and bio of the people that make your farm happen.
Get basic statistics on your site such as hits per day, hits per month, and the pages people visit.
For "communicator" members, we will install the Google Analytics package for extremely detailed statistics.
For "communicator" members, we will install the Feedburner service which takes your What's New to the next level to track the number of people that are following your site through an RSS reader.
For "communicator" members, after six months we will take a close look at your site to see if you are achieving your goals and give you suggestions on web marketing opportunities that you can take.
Create dynamic Google maps featuring your farmers markets, other sources of local food, CSA drop-off points, or anything else that can be represented geographically. This is all done in a point-and-click, user-friendly manner that only requires you to know the addresses of the points you want to represent.
Display your seasonal product calendar in graphic fashion through our innovative slider controls. Automatically updates current products based on your yearly availability graphs each week.
